Proverbs 22:6 exhorts us to train a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not turn from it. Scripture Union Kenya has been actively doing this through her children/youth ministry in primary schools and other institutions since 1985.

This area of ministry includes:

Bible Clubs: These are the Christian groups in primary schools equivalent to the Christian Unions in high schools. Scripture Union recruits, trains, equips and motivates the voluntary Bible club teachers to relevantly and effectively run these clubs in their schools.

Inter School Rallies: These are rallies for Bible club children that are held once a term in different regions. They are forums for children from different schools to encourage involvement in Bible Clubs, nurture talent, evangelize to other children and appropriate age group Biblical counseling on identified themes.

Holiday Camps: These are residential camps, providing temporary Christian community where the children and youth are equipped with socio-spiritual life skills necessary to make informed choices and decisions in life. Check out in the news segment for any upcoming holiday camps.

Volunteer Workers: These are Christians who have a burden for serving God in different capacities. Scripture Union gives such people an opportunity to serve in the nurturing (Age 4 years to 12 years), Steamers ( Age 13 years to 14 years) and teens (Age 15 – 19) departments. Prayer Bulletin

  • We thank God for receiving a new batch of Proclaimers for the Faith Comes by Hearing programme. We pray that the implementation of the new phase will be a success.
  •  We thank God for the successful end of the first wave of the Families Matter Programme. We pray that the implementation of the second wave will be successful.
  •  Pray for the successful implementation of the SAIDIA life skills programme in schools and churches.
  • Pray for more partners to support the  Bible clubs in primary schools and for strengthening of the clubs.
  •  Pray for more partners for the Jesus Film project.
  •  Continue to pray for the new National Director as she continues to discharge her responsibilities.
  •  “Fund raising is people raising” – pray for more people to stand with us in this ministry.
  •  Continue to pray for the implementation of the new constitution, which is likely to affect our work in schools.
  •  Pray for peace and stability in the country, and for reconciliation to take place.
  •  Pray for our economy to heal and grow, in the face of challenges facing many in the country today.
