Scripture Union of Kenya has been working with a number of partners in its mission of fulfilling the Great Commission. Some of the projects being undertaken together with our partners are: (a) Life Skills – Scripture Union of Kenya has been working with World Relief for the past four years, where we have been implementing the life skills programme in Thika, Maragua and Muranga South districts. (b) With Catholic Relief Services, the Scripture Union of Kenya has just began an abstinence programme that offers life skills training among youth in Greater Nairobi, Central and in Eastern regions. These skills empower children and young people by enabling them to acquire knowledge and develop attitudes and skills which support the adoption of healthy behaviour. Scripture Union partners with other organizations in the provision of the life skills programme that is aimed towards the prevention of HIV / AIDS infection and other social vices. (c) With Hossanah International Ministries, Scripture Union is providing ‘proclaimers’ through the Faith Comes by Hearing programme. These are devices through which groups listen to the Bible in audio form. Currently, the programme covers schools in Greater Nairobi region, Coast, South Rift, North Rift, Central, Eastern and the Lake Region. (d) With the Jesus Film Project, Scripture Union of Kenya is showing the Jesus Video for Children to primary school children in Central, Eastern, Lake, and South Rift regions. (e) The Max 7 is the latest addition to our collection of materials for children. The theme it deals with is: What does it mean to live as a child of the King of Kings? These Bible-based programmes are giving children and young people the opportunity to interact with the word of God, make decisions for Christ and even get the opportunity to be counselled and discipled. The programme is being implemented in all our regions, namely, Greater Nairobi, Central, Eastern, Coast, South Rift, North Rift and in the Lake region. |
